Fees are generally dependant on the amount of time a doctors spends either with a patient or in carrying out various aspects of administration, such as compiling medical reports and writing referral letters.
Most insurance companies do not cover GP consultation
fees, but will cover specialist fees and often
investigations such as blood tests.
Fees for counselling and podiatry may be covered on the
recommendation of a consultant.
All consultation fees are settled at the time of your
visit and then claimed back from the insurance company if
appropriate.
