The Practice was founded in 1994 by Dr Guy Staight to provide private general medical services.

All suggestions for improvement of the practice are welcomed.

If patients have a complaint concerning any matter relating to the practice doctors, they are recommended to write first to the doctor concerned and a reply will be given as soon as possible.

Dr Staight, Dr Bealing and Dr Sykes are members of the Independent Doctors Federation. This offers access to an independent review of any complaints which cannot be resolved within the practice.

The physiotherapists and psychotherapists who work from the practice are not part of the IDF and have their own complaints process.

Our Fees.

Fees are dependent on the amount of time spent with the doctor and the administration generated.

Most insurance companies do not cover GP consultation fees, but will usually cover specialist fees and sometimes investigations such as blood tests.

All fees are settled at the time of your visit and then claimed back from the insurance company if appropriate. 
New patient fee: £260
​Standard Consultation: £240
Fees may be reduced at the doctor's discretion
Check up with doctor only: £420 + pathology fee 
Full health check ups: from £565 + pathology (Tuesday & Thursday mornings including lung function ECG and hearing)
Home visits from £425 
Prescriptions sent £25
Prescriptions CD Script (electronic) £35
​Video and phone appointments will be charged at the same rate as face to face appointments according to time taken and action required.

Missed appointments.

Missed appointments will be charged for at the Doctor's discretion - if you no longer need your appointment, please cancel in advance.

Data Protection.

We need to hold personal information about you on our records in order for us to look after your health needs. Your Doctor is responsible for their accuracy and safekeeping.
Doctors and staff have access to your medical records in order to allow them to do their jobs. Information is only ever shared with other Doctors/consultants or practitioners when you are being referred by your Doctor at the Staight Practice to elsewhere.
In extreme circumstances we can be ordered by law to release data in cases of public health issues or if a court order is presented. You will be asked for consent before information is released for medical reports for insurance, solicitors etc.
To ensure privacy we will not disclose any information over the phone, fax, or e-mail unless we are certain it is you we are talking to. If you would rather we didn’t e-mail you please ask the receptionist to remove your address from our system. We have made the decision not to encrypt e-mails due to the cumbersome nature of the available systems and our concern that important e-mails will remain unopened and unread.
Information will not be disclosed to family, friends or spouses without your express permission.
You have a right to see your records if you wish.
We use a clinical computer system called Semble which is fully compliant with all GDPR and safety requirements.
